Offers pain & symptom control rather than curative treatment.Treats the person, not the disease, with a "team approach" to care.Emphasizes quality, rather than length of life.Considers the entire family, not just the patient.Teaches family & friends care techniques.Utilizes community volunteers to enrich the program through their dedication & compassion.Hospice services are available to persons in Dawson and Wibaux County who need palliative measures rather than curative treatment. Patients who are determined as terminally ill by their Medical Provider, and who have less than a six month life expectancy, are eligible for Hospice.
