Glendive Medical Center to Host Holiday Blood Drive

Glendive Medical Center will host a holiday blood drive at the Eastern Plains Event Center (EPEC) on December 21st from 12:30pm-5pm. The blood drive, “Don’t Be Elfish – ‘Tis the Season for Giving Blood” is spearheaded by GMC Medical Lab Technician, Beau Kroll.

“We are hoping that this will be our best blood drive on record, and we surpass our numbers from pre-Covid years,” stated Beau. When individuals give blood through this GMC blood drive, they help patients locally within Glendive and the surrounding communities, and when the need arises, across the country.

According to Vitalant, the blood donation company GMC partners with, many people believe that most blood is needed after major disasters. In fact, daily personal emergencies and ongoing medical needs of thousands of patients require a constant and ready blood supply. It’s the blood already on hospital shelves that saves lives.

If you would like to donate blood, you do not need to know your blood type. Your type will be shared with you after you donate, and all blood types are needed. Appointments can be made by calling 406-345-2624 or 406-345-3370.
