CLIA Certified Lab Tests and Services

This is not a complete list of services our lab has to offer. Call (406) 345-3370 if you would like to inquire about a specific lab service.

GMC Laboratory Services is a hospital based laboratory dedicated to providing our community with high-quality, comprehensive medical technology appropriate to the needs of our patients, providers and community. Our board certified Clinical Lab Scientists perform timely analysis to enable our providers to detect disease, evaluate the effects of injuries and assess the effectiveness of treatments. We actively partner with our community to combat preventable long-term debilitating conditions. We offer two locations for your convenience.

Our Medical Director and affiliated Pathologists are physicians that specialize in Clinical Laboratory, Anatomic Pathology (the study and diagnosis of disease based on examination of organs and tissues), Cytopathology (the diagnosis and evaluation of diseases at a cellular level), and Dermatopathology (the detection and diagnosis, type and treatment options for skin diseases and disorders).

Our team of laboratory professionals continuously strive to improve services through effective communication and cooperation using national and global best practices. GMC Lab Services is licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services Medicare Approval through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments(CLIA) program.

Most testing is performed in our GMC hospital laboratory also servicing our other facilities the Gabert Clinic and Extended Care with results available to the medical provider within 24 hours. Some testing, such as bacterial culturing, may take longer, up to several days. A few special tests are forwarded to reference laboratories, such as Billings Clinic and Mayo Clinic Laboratories. As GMC is connected and affiliated with Billings Clinic all results are also viewable to any provider located at any Billings Clinic location. When your lab work is completed, the results will be available to your medical provider.
