GMC SPONSORS LADIES DAY OUT

Glendive, Montana, September 26, 2012 - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) announced that they will help sponsor "Ladies Day Out" again this year. The free event will take place on Sunday, October 7 at the Glendive Rose Theatre. "We encourage all women to attend this fun event to learn more about breast cancer awareness," Carrie Sokoloski, Community Relations Coordinator, said.
Due to a generous donation from the GMC Auxiliary, attendees will have the chance to enjoy the movie, "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," as well as enjoy free popcorn and soda provided by the Rose Theatre. Before the movie, Janice Griffin, MD, will give a presentation. Marti Peterson will also share her thoughts and experience of battling breast cancer.
Early detection of breast cancer makes a tremendous difference in the ability to successfully treat the disease. Women who receive recommended screenings can significantly reduce their cancer risk.
GMC continues to offer discounted mammograms for $99.50 during the months of October and May to promote breast cancer awareness. The mammograms are done using GMC's state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment. GMC is also proud to offer free mammograms to women who qualify.
Ladies Day Out will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7. Event attendees will receive breast cancer information, various giveaway items and have the chance to win door prizes. The first 100 attendees will receive a pink carnation donated by the Flower Basket. For questions about the event, please call Sokoloski at 406-345-3364. To schedule an appointment for a mammogram, please call 406-345-3330.
