Glendive Medical Center Opens Urgent Care

Glendive, Montana, April 23, 2018 - Glendive Medical Center announced today the opening of Urgent Care, a new walk-in clinic service that offers the community and visitors a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to the emergency department for non-life threatening conditions.

"Urgent Care centers are becoming popular across the country as they provide convenient visits at an affordable cost for patients with minor injuries and illnesses", stated Parker Powell, CEO of Glendive Medical Center, "Our new Urgent Care offers healthcare services for minor medical problems that can develop unexpectedly and require immediate attention, filling the gap between primary care physicians and our hospital emergency room."

The new Urgent Care is located in the lower level of Gabert Clinic and features a fixed menu of affordable costs for a wide range of illnesses and injuries, from coughs and colds to cuts and simple fractures. Providers will be on-site six days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome and staff is able to treat adults and children older than age limit.

"I am excited to be part of this new service for our community," stated Teresea Olsen, PA-C, "this is a wonderful niche for patients who need to be seen quickly for the unexpected minor illnesses and injuries."

Patients who require follow-up care can be assisted with access to Gabert Clinic and referred back to their primary care physician. If a trip to the ER or a higher level of follow up care is warranted, that patient will have the option to make a seamless transition to Glendive Medical Center Emergency Department.

Patients covered by most commercial and public insurance plans can be seen at Urgent Care. The center is open to everyone whether they are existing patients of Glendive Medical Center or not.
