Ready – Set – Grill & Chill!

Glendive, Montana, July 15, 2019 - The Glendive Medical Center Foundation is proud to bring back the Annual Grill & Chill on July 26 and 27. The Grill is a community BBQ at the Dawson County Fairgrounds Exhibition Building on Friday evening, July 26, starting at 5 p.m. The Chill is an eighteen-hole best ball scramble Golf Outing at Cottonwood Country Club on Saturday at 9 a.m.

This year, the theme is “It’s All About Heart” and proceeds from Grill & Chill sponsorships, ticket and auctions sales will go towards a new space of healing for Cardiac Rehab and Outpatient Physical Therapy patients. “We are so happy there will be windows!” stated Dixie Justice, one of the Cardiac Rehab participants, “and we will be close to the parking lot. Sometimes, patients are out of breath by the time they get down here to exercise.” The current space is located in the lower level near the lab which is a bit of a jaunt from the parking lot. The new space will be moving upstairs to the area that was formerly Gabert Clinic Pharmacy. The plan is to add new equipment and remodel to make it a space for healing and improve quality of life for not only Cardiac Rehab patients, but also outpatient physical therapies. Parking will also be more accessible for the patients.

This year’s BBQ will be prepared by Badlands Catering Chef Betsey Hedrick: Beef filets cooked on the grill served with garlic herb butter, fresh baked focaccia bread served tableside with butter, oven roasted tri-colored fingerling potatoes with fresh herbs and caramelized sweet onions, classic Caesar salad, and fresh baked double chocolate brownies and lemon bars. For smaller kids, a half steak with all of the trimmings or hot dogs will be served. Complimentary soft drinks and water will be served, and the Oasis will provide the no-host bar with margaritas, mixed drinks and beer. There will be a live and silent auction Friday evening.

Auction items are rolling in and there are items for all price ranges! Board member Pamela Harr has donated a bronze statue of sharp tails in flight – this is the prize for the “Annie Oakley” drawing. In other words, if you are the winning bid on an item in the silent auction, your name is automatically entered to win the sharp tail bronze statue.

The Golf Outing is an 18-hole best ball scramble with shotgun start. The winning teams will receive $300 for first, $200 for second, $150 for third, and $100 for both the fourth and fifth place teams. We need golfers, so if you would like to play, please call the Foundation office today - 345-8996.
