Let's Get Squished Breast Cancer 5k Walk/Run a Success!

“Let’s Get Squished” Raises Awareness and Funds for Patients

Glendive, Montana, October 4, 2021- Glendive Medical Center (GMC) held the fifth annual “Let’s Get Squished” breast cancer 5k walk/run on Saturday, October 2nd at Our Park in Glendive. Nearly 100 people registered for the race with many opting to walk and run virtually this year due to Covid. This year’s 5k allowed individuals to be timed for their walking and running thanks to the generous donation of a timer by Makoshika Wellness.

“We had great participation this year,” stated Jaime Shanks, Marketing & Foundation Director for GMC, “We raised over $3,000 for GMC patients who are diagnosed or being treated for breast cancer at GMC. The money will be used to provide beautiful comfort baskets to give patients upon diagnosis or treatment. It’s a very special thing we can do for them.”

The race began at Our Park and circled back towards Taylor Avenue to Sargent Avenue and then back down Merrill Avenue. Participants enjoyed a calm, cool morning with the colors of Autumn in vivid display. Race times for the 5k were provided by Makoshika Wellness.
