GMC Promotes Certified Lactation Counselors

Glendive, Montana, January 28, 2015 - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that five nurses have all received the proper training to become certified lactation counselors (CLC). "We are proud of these nurses for getting this training to provide better care for our breastfeeding mothers," James Barnick, RN, Director of Acute Nursing Services said.

Delinda Palmer, RN, Stacy Kadrmas, RN, Tricia Rittal, RN, Jenna McBride, RN and Jessie Huber, RN have all become lactation counselors, which required a five-day training, course work, testing and skills competency. Barnick shared that the CLCs are available to counsel new mothers and babies, help with breastfeeding issues in the hospital and meet with breastfeeding mothers who may be having difficulty.
