Clinical Social Worker To Join GMC Mid-September

Glendive, Montana, September 11, 2017 - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Kelly Buck has joined the medical staff at GMC and Gabert Clinic and will begin to see patients starting Monday, September 18. She will provide mental health therapies and diagnostic procedures for residents in eastern Montana.

"My passion is in serving others", states Kelly, "I have spent my career helping people with emotional, mental, behavioral, financial, and educational difficulties. I am looking forward to moving to Glendive and positively contributing to the mental health of eastern Montana".

Mrs. Buck, a Billings native, completed her undergraduate from Montana State University-Billings in Human Services with a major in Child, Adolescent, and Family Treatment and a minor in Chemical Addictions and Treatments in Human Services and Social Problems. She went on to obtain her Master of Social Work at the University of Washington in Seattle. She most recently held the position of TRIO Director at MSU-Billings as part of a large federally funded grant to provide support and individualized assistance to low income, first generation, and students with disabilities to help them persist academically and graduate with a Bachelor Degree. She simultaneously worked in Student Health Services and provided high quality, cost-effective health care and mental health counseling to promote and enhance student success.

Kelly's passion lies in community and while working at MSU-Billings, she realized the need for mental health services in eastern Montana. "I have worked with many students from the eastern side of the state and I realized that there is definitely a demand for more behavioral health services here. I am excited to move to Glendive. The GMC staff has been very friendly and I am looking forward to sharing my expertise and serving the people in this region."

Kelly is joined by her husband, Mike, a Kalispell native, who has a floor covering installation business in Billings. He looks forward to serving Glendive and the surrounding areas while working through one of the local floor covering stores. They are fond of small town life and enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with their family and pets.

"We are looking forward to Kelly joining our team at GMC," states Parker Powell, CEO. "We have placed focus on building a team of excellent providers for behavioral health and Kelly's knowledge and experience with various ages and multiple facets in this area will be a great asset to our community".
