The MJB Scholarship for Nursing for $1,000.00 was awarded to Sadie Sampson of Glendive. A 2011 graduate of Dawson County High School, Sadie is in her third year of studying nursing at Montana State University in Bozeman. Throughout her educational career, Sadie has been an outstanding athlete. She is an employee in the Social Services department at GMC, and is an active volunteer.

The Foundation was pleased to add a new scholarship this year. The Providers Scholarship for Nursing for $1,000.00 was created by the Medical Staff at GMC. This year's award goes to McKenzie Petty of Glendive. A 2006 graduate of Dawson County High School, McKenzie is in her third year of studying nursing at Montana Tech in Butte. McKenzie was a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Extended Care at GMC before obtaining her RN in 2011. She now works in Acute Care at the Medical Center.

Commenting on the winners this year, Carol Condon, Foundation Director, shared that the Foundation selection committee was overwhelmed by the talent and compassion exhibited in the scholarship interviews. "These three young women are extremely committed to caring for patients at GMC, and we see a bright future for this facility with quality staff members such as Tricia, Sadie and McKenzie."
